Legos & Quilts - Day 82 (August 21, 2013)

In the homestretch of my most current quilting project. Had it laid out on the sewing room floor so I could check it out and measure for borders.
Came back in the room to find Legos on it...
Guess it was a good backdrop for someone's story.

Theater Seating??? - Day 81 (August 20, 2013)

We have been working on freshening up our 'Powder Room' in the process I decided a new toilet was in order.
Caleb found another use for it while it was waiting to be installed.
I also love the one bare foot, 1 sock foot.

Nap Attack - Day 80 (August 19, 2013)

I walked through the living room one day when Auntie Abby was babysitting to see Ruby had had a nap attack.
Abigail, with her iTouch, took it in stride.

Does Life Get Better? - Day 79 (August 18, 2013)

Ok - it is another picture from yesterday on the farm. But I took so many good ones to only share ONE!
At the end of the farm walk Joe bummed a ride from Daddy.
He look tells me that all is well in his world.
Makes my mama heart happy.

Dinner on the Farm - Day 78 (August 17, 2013)

We are part of a vegetable CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
They offered 'Dinner on the Farm' for anyone interested.
We were able to walk around the farm and see where our veggies are grown.
It is an organic farm, very interesting to hear of and see the differences from traditional farming.
The farm walk was followed by a lovely dinner, served to us in a young orchard.
Dinner did stretch our taste buds a bit, in a good way.
Here is a picture of Caleb & Joe checking out the geese when we first got to the farm.

Never Ending Caleb Story - Day 77 (August 16, 2013)

Caleb ALWAYS has some Lego's set up somewhere in the house.
Where we let him have them moves from time to time.
But, he has an ongoing story that can not be interrupted.
Can he tell you the entire story?
No.
(He did tell Dennis and I that it is half done, very long, and he has forgotten the first half)
I do know that when he goes in to story making mode he can work on it (quietly!) for a couple hours.

Feets - Day 76 (August 15, 2013)

End of a long day can there much better than a little one that chooses to snuggle in with mama.
Little Joe's feet next to mine

The Police Officer and The Princess - Day 75 (August 14, 2013)

Little Miss Ruby was crawling around the house in her Tinkerbell outfit as Gramps was getting ready for work.
She insisted on being picked up.
What a great picture to start off the day.

Caleb off to Camp - Day 74 (August 13, 2013)

Nothing like sending a little one off by himself to make a mama's heart get all squishy.
Here is 7 yo Caleb ready to head out for a 1 night Kidz Kamp.
But squishy heart or not, his smile was infectious.

Books, Books... Everywhere - Day 73 (August 12, 2013)

Reading is a popular pastime around here.
Always has been.
Dennis and I both love to read.
The kids all have been readers, some (a lot) more than others.
Over the years I have found books stashed in odd places, more when the older girls were in grade/middle school.
Seeing this book stuck in a laundry basket brought back fond memories of grounding kiddos from reading.
I figure if we had to ground them from reading, we must have been doing something right.

Beach Grad Party! - Day 71 (August 10, 2013)

At long last!
Abigails Graduation Beach Party!
Perfect weather, great company, lovely day.

Elephants - Day 70 (August 9, 2013)

Ack! I day with no pictures. How best to backtrack.
Then I thought of my elephants. For some reason elephants always make me smile.
No clue why.
Here are a few that are scattered around our house.
And they are all special...
The big blue one my friend Geri Ann found and gave to me
The brown chunky one was a gift from my daughter Charlyn
The small ceramic one was painted by one of the girls (Abby?)
The small grey one in the middle was from Dennis' Grandma's collection
And the reddish one is from Cambodia, my parents brought it back after having visited my sister and her family there.

Scrapping Supplies - Day 69 (August 8, 2013)

As I find myself making more digital memories for my family I decided it was time to thin out my Creative Memories supplies. So I spent the afternoon at Charlyn's (wifi!) posting A LOT of items in a FB group. In the process I found the inside of this small scrapbook that was once Seth's.
Love seeing that sweet little boy handwriting.

Outdoor Artists - Day 68 (August 7, 2013)

When asking Caleb what he wanted to do (non-electronic)

After much thought he said painting! Nicole graciously offered to host a painting class outside.
Very fun to watch.

Bye-Bye 'burb - Day 67 (August 6, 2013)

As the prices of gas went up and our at-home family size was going down we decided to park the Suburban and take the insurance off it for a while. A while turned into well over a year and over time it sadly turned into a large piece of clutter on our property.
So, the time came - we sold it to an auto auction and they came and towed it off.
Bittersweet to watch it go. It served us well.
(note: it actually left tomorrow, but was suppose to be on today so I did not take any other pictures so decided to put it on for today anyway.)

Auntie Abby & Logan - Day 66 (August 5, 2013)

Abigail was hanging out in the library and along came Logan and insisted on scooching in next to her.
Made for a happy Auntie Abby.
Very cute!

Cleared! - Day 65 (August 4, 2013)

Victory!
I can see our dining room table!
(it is often the landing zone for transitional items)

Bridal Shower - Day 64 (August 3, 2013)

Had a fun time at a bridal shower for my niece Candace today.
Seeing her big smiles in anticipation of her upcoming wedding day could do nothing but make others smile!

Joey Snuggles - Day 63 (August 2, 2013)

Had the other kids working on different things, I had some paper/computer work I was working on in my bedroom.
Little Joe decided he needed to watch a movie in my room, so he snuggled in and we watched Beauty and the Beast.

Getting Ready for School - Day 62 (August 1, 2013)

Not the plan for the day, but happy with the end results.

Cleaned off the school shelves and stocked them with curriculum for 2013-14
Still waiting for a couple items to show, but for the most part the books and manipulatives are ready to roll.

Old and Young Together - Day 61 (July 31, 2013)

Walking through the living room I saw Abby wrapped up in this quilt - made me smile.

It is the quilt I made for Grammie (Dennis maternal Grandma) on her 90th birthday.
She was such an amazing lady.
