Ruby's first ponytail!
(she messed with it a wee bit before I was able to get a picture)

Day 160 - Sunny January Morning (January 4, 2014)

Behind (or in front, depending on how you look at it) our house this morning.
Love some natural Vitamin D!

Day 159 - Ruby (January 3, 2014)

After taking lots and lots of pictures of a very busy Ruby that usually is sticking something in her mouth and cropping and editing away I finally came up with this picture of my adorable granddaughter.

Very worth the effort!

Day 158 - Christmas Quilt (January 2, 2014)

A Christmas Quilt eight years or more in the making.

Done!
The piecing was done by machine.
It was then long-arm quilted by Laurel Keith of Hawn Creek Quilting.
SO nice to have a long term project completed.

Day 157 - Happy New Year! (January 1, 2014)

A picture of my 'at-home' crew seemed a good way to start off the new year!

Taking this picture took my back to our first New Year's Eve in this house. It was 1999 - the turn of the century.
Dennis was at work, just in case Y2K predictions came true, so the kids and I had a party at home.

Only Abby and Seth were in that picture.
Life sure changes quickly.

I'm Back! and Happy New Year!

You may, or may not, have noticed that I took a break from my blog. It got to a point it was becoming a huge stress in my mind for many reasons and since the main reason for doing this was my own personal enjoyment I decided it was better to just take a break then to go nutty trying to 'conquer the blog.'

So here we are in a brand spanking new year and am finding myself itching to get back at this.

It is a good feeling.

As I go forward, fitting the 'makes me smile' box is going to be less important, and just enjoying taking pictures more important.
(after all, allowing myself to just play, will make me smile!)
Photography is something I enjoy and I hope someday to get more a more sophisticated camera with some of the endless supply of toys to go with it but for now I am going to work on using my trusty point-and-shoot to the best of my abilities. Maybe I will even find the manual (or google it) and figure out a few more of the settings on what I have. Novel thought.

and, while my first picture of the year takes forever to upload on dial-up, let me say...

Have a very Blessed 2014!

Day 156 - Grandparents Sign (November 2, 2013)

Went to see my mom at the hospital (she had hip replacement surgery) and when passing the gift shop windows I saw this sign. By the time we went back past the windows, I knew I NEEDED this sign.
And I do plan on having Dennis post this part way up our driveway.
Joey even told us how to do so - "get a piece of wood and stick it in the ground and put the sign on it.... but you might need some 'structions"
